UnmatchedStyle teamed up with Chris Coyier to run this year’s CssOff. With over 2000 downloads and 411 submissions, it was a pretty huge contest. The rules were well-defined and gave lots of interesting challenges and choice points.

Execution

I don’t think I’ve spent quite so much time on markup for a single-page site in my life. My site came in at 836kb, which as far as I could tell from the Twitter stream at the time is fair.

• JavaScript and jQuery
• Image Compression

I can think of a dozen improvements I would make to the site, but I’ve left the submission in its original form. It represents a good attempt under a short timeline.

Results

Not sure! It’ll be at least a month until the judges release their final verdict, and I’m excited to see how I did. I’m hoping for a top 25 finish, which would make me very happy.
